|Takes One to Know One|
As a child, Stuart did not know his father. Rather, he was raised under the care of his mother (who was a mere 20 years older than he) and spent much of his time at school. Although this seemingly translated into the attentive, well mannered lad who always scored good marks, there was more subtext to this childhood.
You see, in addition to taking in all the knowledge that the teachers had to offer, Stuart also took in the other great thing about high school and college: the partying and night life. Stuart’s attention to detail taught him who to hang out with, who the “in” crowd was, and who to befriend in order to benefit himself, and to keep himself protected. Stuart also was able to pick up on cues, tells, and all kinds of information that could get him ahead in a social ladder. This ability to read and analyze people also gave Stuart an easy time with the ladies as well. A reasonably good looking man, but with the wit and guile he possessed combined with a knack for always knowing exactly what to say to a girl… well let’s just say Stuart didn’t sleep alone very often.
This being said about our ladies man Stuart, he did have a genuine interest in business and administration, and one day aspired to run his own night club. Stuart would attend seminars frequently where local successful businessmen shared their secrets to success. One such occasion, Stuart felt especially compelled by the man speaking: A dark man, aged but distinguished, with a commanding presence was speaking about his lighting company he built from the ground up. How his hard work, dedication, and attention to detail were his keys to success in any avenue he ventured down, and that those who tapped into these abilities would face no challenge to great in life. What really grasped Stuart, though, was how this man continuously looked seemingly right at Stuart during the seminar, as though he was speaking to him directly.
As the speech wrapped up, Stuart chalked up the seemingly direct conversation with the man to his public speaking ability, gathered his binder of notes and proceeded out the back exit. As he rounded the corner to the stairwell, the man speaking was waiting for him there.
“Stuart. I have been watching you for a long time now. It is good to see you express such an interest in business. It is a wonderful way to touch the lives of others.”
“What do you mean, watching me?” Stuart was taken aback. He was never one to be surprised, spied on, or otherwise observed. Typically, Stuart was the one doing the observing, his senses too keen to be caught unawares of an observer.
“This would take long to explain.” said the man. “Suffice it to say, that I have seen both your keen studies of business, and your keen studies of the many women you meet.”
Stuart replied, now offended and shaken by the man’s knowledge of his personal life: “And just what business of that is it of yours?”
The man spoke once more in a calm tone “As your father, I feel it necessary now to step back into your life. Walk with me Stuart, there is much for us to discuss.”
The man revealed himself to be Atum-Re to Stuart. He explained his many covers as a business man, and how he had come to meet Stuart’s mother on a “work related” sojourn. Stuart at first did not believe the fantastic tale, Atum-Re began to question Stuart if he had ever noticed that his thinking and observation was on a level far above any of his peers and Stuart again chalked this up to hard work and study. “You are correct, Stuart, but there is more to it than that. Let me show you…”
The two men had now ascended to the rooftop of the parking garage. It was late in the afternoon, the sun about 3/4th of the way across it’s arc in the sky. Atum-Re stepped away from Stuart, raised his arms and said to Stuart: “Behold your father and legacy Stuart! Look upon Ra! God of the Sun and creation!”
As his father spoke these words, the sun seemingly moved closer, and brighter, and silhouetted the now powerful looking man adorned with gold bracers, a fabulous headdress and shining golden weaved robes. Stuart had no doubt in his mind at this point that this man, nay this God, was the real deal.
“Stuart, I must leave you at this time. But take with you this bracelet. Within it lies the power of your bloodline and namesake, Khnurn! It will allow your thoughts and speech to command those as such the Sun commands awe from everything below it! Know that I am always watching you son, and that I shall guide you in ways both seen and unseen!” And with that, Atum-Re handed the bracelet to his son, and embarked on a brilliant yacht sailing up and and through the sky out of sight.
In the time following this great revelation, Stuart was emboldened by his fathers words and has since become a successful entrepreneur. He shares ownership of a night club with a major hotel chain, and has also launched and since sold off (to pay for the night club) a successful electrical supply outlet, as well as maintains a healthy stock portfolio that he oversees personally. When not managing his investment profile, Stuart still spends much of his free time at his night club, or at the shooting gallery practicing with his customized Desert Eagle. The remainder of his time he still spends at seminars, although now he elects to speak at his former high school about the success you can have at a young age (like him) if you put your mind to it.
As it stands currently, life is good for Stuart.
